BTC Group reported €176.1 million in revenue for 2010, including its international companies, according to its June 2011 results announcement. Bülent Uzuner was its chief executive. This is a historical group figure, not his personal earnings or a current-year result.

Building a business in Bremen

Uzuner was born in Hopa, Turkey, and came to Bremen with his parents at eight. He completed his education in the city and qualified as an economist before working in consultancy. The Schaffermahlzeit’s 2020 biography records his first company’s founding in 1997 and its merger with two partners to form BTC in 2000.

BTC’s work included IT consulting, custom software and outsourced services. Uzuner led the company for more than twelve years, with ownership subsequently transferring to EWE. His contribution was as a co-founder and long-serving chief executive, alongside partners and employees.

A second company

He founded Uzuner Consulting at the end of 2013. In May 2024, Bremen’s economic development agency WFB described the wider Uzuner Competence Group as a business with more than 300 employees. It provided services in software development, digitalisation, process improvement and project management, with its headquarters in Bremen and offices in Hamburg, Istanbul and Izmir.

These are two distinct businesses. The €176.1 million headline figure belongs to BTC Group in 2010; it is not revenue attributed to the newer Uzuner group.
