Drift’s public-interest migration initiative helps people understand their options and reach independent immigration lawyers. We believe AI should expand human agency.
What does non-profit mean here?
It describes the purpose and operating direction of this initiative: keeping information accessible and putting people’s ability to act first. The founders contribute their time to this work.
Drift Solutions UG currently operates the platform. A separate non-profit legal structure and formal charitable status are still in development. We are not presenting the UG as a registered charity.
What is free, and what is paid?
Reading the help centre and using Drift’s general immigration information are free. Independent lawyers charge separately for their advice and representation. Check the lawyer’s scope and fees before agreeing to a service.
The intended funding model is a small platform fee from participating lawyers, with no commission on legal fees. The aim is to reinvest platform income in access to the initiative.
What is planned for January 2027?
We plan to document oversight and decision-making, conflicts of interest, funding and accountability, and responsibilities for information quality, privacy and feedback. These measures are planned, not already adopted.

How is this different from Drift AI?
This help centre serves people navigating migration questions. Drift AI’s separate commercial work builds localised AI models for consumer law firms and public institutions.
